City of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin

Stormwater Facility Management and Oversight

SetterTech has worked with the City of Sun Prairie for several years, managing, inspecting and preparing management plans associated with City owned stormwater facilities. Management tasks have included hands on invasive species control throughout specific stormwater facilities, including the removal of woody and herbaceous invasive species, debris removal and mowing operations. Beyond actual hands-on activities, SetterTech has carried out inspections on behalf of the City for the acceptance of vegetation work for completed by outside contractors, inspected constructed channels for erosion and reviewed physical structures to confirm functionality.

SetterTech has also been developing a system utilized by the City of Sun Prairie Public Works Department which entails strategy for mapping stormwater facilities and coding the map to show not only what areas of the facility will be maintained by City staff, but also what areas will be maintained by outside contractors. This mapping system also indicates tasks to be completed in specific areas of the stormwater facility. SetterTech also works with Sun Prairie staff to train them and give direction to stormwater and natural resource work being carried out in the community. The City of Sun Prairie embraces this relationship as it utilizes municipal staff to carry out as much of the stormwater and natural resource work as possible with resources that are already in place. SetterTech also handles the professional work associated with the stormwater and natural resource management tasks.
